OurTop10 Rankings Methodology
Our criteria, our sources, and what our lists do and don't tell you.
OurTop10 independently assesses finance and property professionals operating in Australia, Including mortgage brokers, buyer’s agents, conveyancers and accountants.
Our assessments draw on publicly available business information, verified third-party customer reviews and our own qualitative review. We refresh listings monthly.
Please note: OurTop10 listings are general comparison information. They are not financial, legal or tax advice. See our Terms & Conditions.
Why our lists aren’t ordered 1 to 10
Every provider on a listing page has already met our assessment criteria for that category and location. We don’t then rank them against each other from best to worst.
They’re shown in no particular order and this is NOT a 1-to-10 merit ranking. A provider’s position on the page tells you nothing about how it compares to the others. There is no ‘number 1’. The structured data on our listing pages marks these lists as unordered for the same reason.
Which provider suits you depends on your own circumstances, like your loan type, your budget, where you’re buying, how complex your affairs are. Our job is to narrow the field to credible options. The choice is yours.

How we assess providers listed
We weigh the following criteria when deciding whether a provider qualifies for a listing. The weightings tell you what we care about most, not where a provider sits on a leaderboard.
Where our information comes from
We use business websites, industry association registers, licensing and registration records, and customer reviews published on third-party platforms. We don’t accept provider-supplied claims at face value where we can verify them independently.
Minimum review threshold
To qualify for a listing, a provider generally needs to meet a minimum public review threshold — usually 50 or more reviews, though this varies by category and location. Providers with insufficient data may be excluded or unranked. A provider’s absence isn’t a judgement about their service.
How often we update
We review and refresh listings monthly, and more often when something significant changes, like a business closure, or a sharp shift in review volume.
Can a provider pay to be listed?
Providers cannot pay to improve or influence listing or ranking positions. OurTop10 may offer sponsored placements or advertising opportunities. To work with us, fill out our contact form and someone will be in touch.
Something not right?
If you’re a listed provider and your details are out of date, or you think we’ve assessed something incorrectly, contact us and we’ll review it.
Disclaimer
OurTop10 provides general comparison information only. We don’t guarantee service outcomes or that any listed provider is suitable for your circumstances. Do your own research and consider getting advice from a licensed professional before you commit.
